Fall Inspiration

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Anna Hamilton

What comes to your mind when envisioning a fall wedding?? Well, I don’t know about you, but what comes to my mind are all the beautiful fall colors (burnt orange, hunter green, deep chocolate brown,...), pumpkins, the good smells that are usually present around Thanksgiving time, and the list goes on.  The thought of all these magnificent things could easily entice one into considering a Thanksgiving inspired wedding.  I mean if you think about it, more than likely all the family members will already be in town, so hey, what’s the problem?  What more could you want on a day of giving thanks?!

Concerned about the right fall color that all the bridesmaids will agree looks right on their skin tone?  I don’t think anyone can go wrong with the color green, especially since there are so many different shades of it. There is a sure possibility of finding just the right green that will look fabulous on everyone!  See below with how this unique shade of green fits all of the skin tones present in the picture?  P.s. I LOVE those bouquets- the deep oranges and reds are gorgeous and still look magnificent with the green!

Eco-Friendly Affair

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Kasey Kermeen

So we all know that going green is all the rage right now and believe me I’m all about protecting mother Earth through recycling. I also happen to think that this is an awesome theme to incorporate into your wedding! Think of how happy your guests will be to know that you’re not loading the buffet with preservatives but instead going organic!

You can do your part on your big day by using invitations made from recycled paper, using decorations that can be recycled, and also requesting that guests donate to your favorite charity rather than purchasing that oh so neat blender!

While you may not want to go to extremes by using an all naturel wedding dress, there are a million and one ways to make your wedding day a little “greener” than most.

Winter Wedding

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Anna Hamilton

Ever thought about having a winter wedding?!  I honestly cannot think back on many instances where I have attended a wedding in the winter time.... but ya know what?!  One day I hope to have my dream wedding in the winter.  What I have envisioned for my winter wedding consists of a lot of lights and red accents, which would be through the flowers, centerpieces, etc.

I think the seating arrangement in this picture is so cool and beautiful with the trees and lights surrounding the chairs. The red accents here are in the floor and the drapes, which I really love!

This is pretty, too, as it consists of the chairs being decorated, but I still love the touch of red being involved like in the other image. Comparing the two is a great way to select exactly what you like. Just by seeing these two pictures has allowed me to gather more ideas on how I would like just the seating arrangement and the decorations to go along with them.

What shall we look at next -- Centerpieces? Reception décor?

The image above is a gorgeous centerpiece that could be added onto the tables at the reception.

This picture shows me that the majority of this kind of look is created just by the lighting, garland, and red bows. Look at what a statement it makes!

Also, it’s amazing how much the color of linens at a reception add to the atmosphere. I love the red with the gold touches!
Wanna have a winter wedding now???

It is not everyone’s style, but I hope you have been able to see how a winter wedding can be just as spectacular as any other wedding held during a different time of the year.

Getting married is one of the oldest traditions in our culture, so why not include some of that classic vintage look into your wedding theme? With this theme you and your guests can relive that time when things were simple and elegant. You can even incorporate this vintage look into your wedding attire, venue décor and the transportation!

The post-wedding getaway car is probably my favorite part of this theme other than the dress. There are so many companies available now for couples to rent these amazingly classic cars for their special day! I believe that this would be the perfect ending to a beautiful vintage wedding ceremony.

So even if you don’t want to go completely old-school, there is definitely a modern way to put the perfect vintage touch to your wedding theme and make it an unforgettable event!

What Guests Remember?

Written by Decadent Details Assistant, Anna Hamilton

What will people remember most about your reception?  The table arrangements?  The music? What beverages were served?  My bet is that they will remember how great, or not so great, the food/ refreshments were following your wedding ceremony.  It was just the other day when I overheard someone speaking of how magnificent the food was at a wedding reception they had recently attended.

What comes to mind when you think of good food? For some, it could be seafood while others wouldn’t choose anything over a big greasy cheeseburger.   Well, no matter your taste, it is still nice to have a variety of refreshments to be served at your reception.

I have been to weddings where there were only vegetable trays available for refreshments and I have been to weddings where a four course meal was served to every guest.  Okay, I know we all hate to think of this, but let’s face it- a huge factor in deciding what kind of food to provide at your reception depends a lot on the kind of budget you are working with.  Nothing is wrong with that at all.  Being considerate of the guests that will be in attendance at your wedding/ reception is something to keep in mind while choosing the right menu for the reception, though.  For instance, if you know there are many children that will be attending with their parents then don’t just serve grilled chicken and veggies-- or if ya do, be sure to have foods that will satisfy the children as well.  This doesn’t mean you have to go all out and just “cater” to the children, of course, but just provide a tray of mini pizzas or chicken nuggets.

Also, the food should be visually appealing.  Having an assortment of colors of food will add to the atmosphere.  If you’re wondering what I’m talking about- I am referring to how the food can contribute greatly to the decorations in the reception.  A good way to ensure there is a splash of color is by having fruit displayed in a neat way.  Kind of like the “Edible Arrangements” or the “pie pops”.
