Rock n’ Roll Reception

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Kasey Kermeen

I’m so pumped about this theme because although it may not fit everyone’s style, it is a theme that can be personalized like crazy! Living in “Music City” I imagine that wedding theme has to be popular, the words rock n’ roll already imply a good time so how could this reception disappoint? One of my favorite things about a rock n’ roll reception is all of the color! While black is naturally going to be involved, it is up to you to pick dark purples and reds or go all out with some leopard and hot pink!

So even if you’re not marrying an actual “rock star” it’s still possible to pull off a rockin’ reception on your big day!

Want to add some sparkle to your wedding attire? No problem! Here are some different ideas that will have you looking and feeling glamorous:

• Hair Jewelry – (love em’!)

·       Fancy Necklaces

Your style dress could be a huge help in deciding which awesome accessory(s) you choose to show off on your wedding day.  For instance, if you have a high-collared neckline then you might not want to go the fancy necklace route; but if you will be wearing a strapless dress style, then you can just about get away with any accessory you want.  So, don’t forget to let your dress be one of the main deciding factors! ...... OR, if you already have THE most amazing accessory and you can’t live without wearing it on your wedding day, then you already know what to do—choose the dress accordingly- make sure it will go with that magnificent piece!

What do you think of this “very vogue” look? I LOVE it! The feathers make such a statement, even without any other piece of jewelry. So, keep that in mind—doesn’t mean you have to go with feathers in your hair, but if you do have a wonderful hair piece- don’t take away from it by having another distracting piece of jewelry on with it.

It doesn’t matter how much bling you decide to or to not wear, just be sure you feel GLAMOROUS!!!

This one’s for you…. Yes, YOU!

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Anna Hamilton

Do you realize how overwhelming dress shopping can be? Not just any dress shopping, but wedding dress shopping!  Finding the perfect wedding dress that fits your style as well as your body can be more of a task than what you might have planned on it being, but keep in mind this does need to stay an exciting time and does not need to become a stressful occasion since it is what you will be wearing on one of the most special days of your life!

Once you walk into a wedding dress shop you might stop and think, “Where do I even begin?” Well my advice to you is to be more prepared by already knowing what styles you like on your body type best just from your casual dresses. This doesn’t mean to only stick with this style, because I agree, you do want to stand out and look a bit different than the normal everyday you on your wedding day; but starting with styles that you already know you like will help you to gain more ideas about the perfect wedding dress for you. For instance, you might like the fit on one, but the beading on another. This is okay, because I promise you the right one is out there! Don’t lose hope after going into just two wedding dress shops by any means.  Picture Source

Just as the saying goes, “Never settle for anything less than the best”, is something to apply while searching for that fabulous dress that fits your style in every way! Whether you want your dress to resemble Melania Trump’s lavish wedding dress or are determined to obtain that classical vintage look, you need to be sure it is everything you ever dreamed about your wedding dress being!

Cinderella Ceremony

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant Kasey Kermeen

So of course every bride is going to be the belle of the ball on her wedding day, why not be the Cinderella at yours? Weddings are all about romance and expressing your love with an elegant and memorable ceremony and I think that a fairytale theme would be perfect! Imagine you and your prince charming arriving to your wedding destination in a beautiful carriage to walk down an aisle lined with candles and flowers.

My favorite aspect of a fairytale themed wedding is that when it comes to picking the dress you’ll wear on that special day, the bigger the better! What’s more Cinderella than a huge sparkly gown?

Girls just wanna have fun!!!

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Anna Hamilton

So ladies, whatever you do be sure you are having as much fun as possible during the entire wedding process!  Yes, this is a good excuse for having your way- but wait a second, let’s not mistaken that for being a “bridezilla”.  If you are unfamiliar with this term, I am sure you have a great idea at what one is; but for clarity purposes, it is “a difficult, unpleasant, perfectionist bride”.  Source

I am here to tell you that you do not have to follow anyone else’s “rules” of a wedding. This means you do not having to go by all of the normal wedding traditions, which can even pertain to something as simple as the kind of shoes you wear at your wedding. If you want to be a notch different and wear something that you feel truly expresses yourself, then branch out and make it a bit different than the typical wedding shoe. Let me make it clear that you do not have to choose that little dainty satin and rhinestone shoe that the majority of others have…. if you don’t wanna!

Let’s make this more fun and exciting!  If you are a shoe fanatic, then you already know of your favorite designers.  Check with those designers and find the most fabulous pair (keeping in mind they are the ones to wear during your wedding!) For example, if your style is funkier than most, then you might want to search for those amazing Jeffrey Campbell, Sam Edelman, or Betsey Johnson shoes to wear during your wedding….and no, I am not kidding!  It is fine if you want to stay with the whole white theme or if you want to add that splash of color- just do whatever makes you happiest!

So even though this theme doesn’t include all the glitz and glam, who wouldn’t want to spend their wedding day in a tropical destination? This theme requires little to no work when it comes to décor and scenery because the ocean view is already there waiting for you! There are also a million ways to tailor your décor to both of your tastes and really create an environment that expresses you as a new couple.

We’re Married – Now what???

Written by Decadent Details Events Assistant, Anna Hamilton

“Marriage is a lifelong commitment and it requires patience, sacrifice, respect, good and open communication, compromise, endless love, forgiveness, giving each other the benefit of the doubt, loyalty, kindness and trust”.  Source

It is only common for couples to go through rough patches at some point in their marriage, though that does not need to be mistaken for not loving each other anymore. There are ways to maintain a healthy relationship which consist of effort involving both people.

Keeping a marriage alive is crucial in maintaining a healthy relationship so it doesn’t seem as if it is just a label.

Ways to keep your marriage on the right track can be done by:

• Developing the same kinds of interests
• Having a date night once a week

• Surprising one another with little gifts

• Attending a church that each are comfortable with

• Having a “Supper Club” monthly

                                                                                                 Source

All of these are just recommendations, though it is certainly not all it is limited to. There are many other activities that you and your partner may enjoy together on a regular basis- I’m just throwing out some ideas and being that reminder!

If you and your partner already have the same interests- great; if not, you may want to seriously consider taking part in whatever else it is that makes them happy…other than you.  Date nights can be something each of you look forward to on a weekly basis, so by going to the movies, out to eat, or even playing putt-putt golf every Tuesday is a way to ensure that fun activities are on your agenda. Surprises are the best…in my opinion at least. What’s better than receiving an unexpected gift? This doesn’t mean it has be some lavish gift either. More importantly, it’s the thought that counts.

Going to a “supper club” on a monthly basis will help you to enjoy one another while being around other couples. There’s nothing wrong with needing to be surrounded by others sometimes and having a “supper club” will guarantee that.

Hope you have some great ideas on how to keep your marriage at its finest!!!
